Navigating childcare and early childhood can be challenging so we have put together a list of useful online resources to help you on your journey, whether it be commencing care or looking for some information about child development or services in the community, below are some links to get you started.
Allergy and Anaphylaxis Australia
Provides information and support in relation to allergies and anaphylaxis.
Care for Kids
A privately run child care search engine that allows families to see vacancies, fees, and set alerts for vacancies at their preferred child care.
Provides product comparisons and consumer information.
Department of Human Services
The Department of Human Services supports Australians to access the child care subsidies they may be entitled to. It incorporates Centrelink services.
Early Childhood Intervention Australia
Represents professionals and organisations that provide services for young children with disability and developmental delays and their families.
Keep them Safe
Provides mandatory reporters regarding child protection.
Information on children’s safety and injury prevention.
The MyChild website is an Australian Government website providing information to families in regards to CCB approved child care services, vacancies and ratings of those services.
National Health and Medical Research Council
Provides information on infectious diseases and compiles the Staying Healthy in Childcare guides.
NSW Department of Education – Early Childhood Education
The Department of Education is the governing body for child care services in NSW, they are responsible for the assessment and rating of services, the maintenance of quality and the investigation of complaints. If you have a grievance with your childcare service that they have not attended to, you are able to seek support from the Early Childhood Education Directorate at the Department of Education.
NSW Health – Immunisation Information
This page provides information regarding the immunisation requirements for accessing child care in NSW.

Information and phone numbers in the event that you or your child comes into contact or ingests a poisonous substance.

St Johns Ambulance Australia
Offers child first aid courses.

Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority
The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is an independent national authority that assists governments in implementing the National Quality Framework (NQF) for children’s education and care.
ACECQA works with the Australian and state and territory governments to:
- Implement changes that benefit children birth to 13 years of age and their families
- Monitor and promote the consistent application of the Education and Care Services National Law across all states and territories
- Support the children’s education and care sector to improve quality outcomes for children

This website has been developed by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) with families accessing child care services in mind.
